I don’t know where I heard or saw the idea for this inspiring project, but it is brilliant and a great help when you are stuck.
I heard about an artist who, when he was in a creative mood, put together a simple box and put random words, phrases and ideas on slips of paper into the box. Then when he got “stuck” he could pull an idea out of his box.
The concept is simple, but I think it is really useful. And it is useful for any creative outlet, like wordplay for music or writing.
I took a cigar box and decorated it with a mish mash of paper, stickers and paint. It’s a little ugly but it speaks to my creativity.
Then one morning I was in my basement, playing with my daughter. As ideas came to me I wrote them down. Now I have this inspirational box for my next creative pinch!
