Instagram and “social media”

I have to admit that I can get sucked into the “social media” world as much as anyone for hours at a time. But I have to find it more ironic than entertaining. It’s a place where I can stalk my friends and family and come up with ideas for social commentary. It’s a place where I can laugh at silly memes and think of my own spins on the commentary. It’s just another place where I can find creative influence. Like the real world, I see the beauty in most things.

Sometimes I sit in the bathtub and come up with my most “brilliant” ideas. I feel like painting a series in the filters of Instagram. Or coming up with blue and white landscapes via Facebook. I read about marketing on LinkedIn (really I’m zoning out because it’s boring to me) while I “endorse” everyone for anything.

It’s interesting to know that the online world has as much affect on my creativity as the off line world.
